About Woodside

Woodside is a small town on the San Francisco Peninsula. The population was 5,287 at the 2010 census. Woodside is among the wealthiest communities in the United States and is home to notable residents such as Stanford professors, professional coaches and athletes, philanthropists, famous musicians, and entertainment stars.

Woodside is known for its wooded beauty. Parks and open spaces in and around Woodside provide a beautiful backdrop to the small community. Wunderlich County Park, Huddart Park, El Corte de Madera Creek Open Space Preserve, and Windy Hill Open Space Preserve are all great places for hiking. Among the many hiking trails, there are also equestrian trails. Horses are a part of the local culture and many residents keep horses on their property. The Horse Park at Woodside offers 272 oak-studded acres with trails and numerous other equestrian activities.

In the state legislature, Woodside is in the 13th Senate District, represented by Democrat Jerry Hill, and in the 24th Assembly District, represented by Democrat Rich Gordon. Federally, Woodside is in the state's 14th Congressional District, which is represented by Democrat Jackie Speier.
